Comments: Grettir the Strong comes to Asgeir’s farm. Now Asgeir has been having trouble keeping a Shepard. Grettir though insists he can do the job and fears nothing. Asgeir also has a Housekeeper, Hild.
This story does take a most unexpected turn.
The scenes of the older time are so well done you get a feeling of actually being there.
This story will have you feeling for both the elf and human. Hild is revealed as her true self and Grettir is as he always has been. Hild learns a valuable lesson. Do not judge a book or person by its cover.
The narrator and his talking dog are a nice touch at the begging and end of the story. They add that extra that makes it stand out as something special.

Comments: A King has conquered all and has everything so what can he do next? Faerie Hill is next.
The art is to simple. It needed more details in it.
The King is a conqueror. He wants to conquer the Faerie Queen's land. She though gives him a challenge. The King faces his challenge and does his best. Does he win well he does enjoy a laugh which is so much better than anger. Yes this King a warrior and a fighter learns that love, charity and peace bring happiness and fulfillment.
The ending to this tale is so full of hope. It will make you teary eyed. A King here learns what it truly means to be King and to truly live a life worth living.

Comments: "The Pond" A tribe is at war and losing. The King's daughter and son both have thoughts about it that differ.
The son and daughter do not get along, but the daughter does have one friend her best friend. Now the fairies are called in to help with the war and they do deliver just not how they or anyone had planned. You knew something was going to happen just not what. The way things end up for this daughter will leave you sad for her and the way the war goes it ends as most wars do with no real winner.
The art could have used more detail. It had a smudged look with the colors.
The daughter was a wonderful character and you will feel sorry for her. The war and the fairies do take what she loves most and she is left alone.

Comments: A Shepherd Lad now this lad is headstrong. He is bored with his herding of sheep. This lad does go on one adventure into the lands of the Fairy. There he may stay but on one condition. He accepts and one day will become King of the Fairies.
The illustrations are colored in a light green that fits so well the land of the Fairies. The art does have a fairy tale look and feel to it. At times though it is to vague.
The lad does learn from living among the fairies and this son now looks at his mother differently. In anger one can leave and in love one can return. So the returning is so much better. Fairies here do not say a word but they do convey so much.
The narrator and his dog provide a nice unique touch to this tale.
