Comments: "Rear Window" You will not even recognize Vee aka Veronica Lodge. She is drawn beautiful but looks nothing like you would expect.
As Vee, Archie, Betty and Jughead hang out they see something strange in the neighborhood. The characters are written with drama and as if they are ordinary teenagers not Archie characters. It does portray them as they are in the TV series of Riverdale and not the regular comic book.
The mystery does intensify. The suspect is up to no good and the gang well they are suspicious.
They just does not seem like an Archie Comics story.
"Mommie Dearest" Archie's trial is mentioned but not what he is on trial for? Maybe if you watch the TV series Riverdale you might know. It would be nice to get a short recap though in the comic. Veronica wants to open a Speakeasy? Her mother is the Mayor? Having Veronica and Betty both breaking the law several times over is different. Again this is based on the TV show and not the classic comic book.
The characters are here just they are not the same.

Comments: "You've Got Mail" Josie is a beautiful talented girl. She has it all except for one thing. She had a chance at it but blow it. Josie is a smart girl at most things but one thing she is not and because she thinks with her head and not her heart that is why she feels so lonely. Her career is number one for her but what about her the person, the girl who just wants to be loved.
The art definitely delivers on Josie's face it is a work of art.
"Funny Games" De Santos a friend of Kevin's finds prison life easier if he uses his imagination. He does picture things differently involving others but his own fate he sees clearly. His is a sad fate.
It is great to have other characters than the main ones being the focus of the stories. The others are still there just in the background.
The stories are to short you just start to get into them and then they are over.

Comments: "Strangers on a Bus" Betty and Jughead are dating? Here Betty gets to hang out with Jughead's mom Gladys. They have a nice chat which is hard to fully understand. Gladys does come across as a conniving woman. Betty and Jughead do make a lovely couple though but Betty's hiding things from him might change that.
"Dead Calm" Veronica and Reggie spend time all alone. These two do make a wonderful couple without Archie in the way. The two of them spend the night in bed together. Wow. This is not your old time Archie comic. These two do have a great relationship going for them.
The art looks great in both stories. Reggie is especially good looking without any of his bad guy side showing through. Yes he is a kind and caring individual.
It is great to see a Archie comic not focused on Archie and here both Betty and Veronica have other romantic interests. Adventure, intrigue and fun are had with these characters. No Archie needed.

Comments: "Lady Sings the Blues" Josie and Archie are a couple here. Archie is very supportive of Josie and whatever she wants to do with her life. Josie's dad he seems aloft. There is something off about him and what he thinks of Josie and her musical career. This story is low key and it is nice to see Josie enjoy performing.
The art is just showing the characters as normal people. There is nothing about it to make it stand out.
"Into the Wild" Cheryl and all the cheerleaders get stranded on the road. Betty investigates and she does find some disturbing things. Who is Gladys? What are her plans for Riverdale?
The art is plain and boring. Even the cheerleaders look simply drawn with nothing standing out.
Cheryl is presented not as stuck up as usual.
This entire comic is filled with drama and more drama.
This issue is just sad to read. The characters are listless. There is no fun here. This is definitely not your classic Archie comic.
