Comments: Mandrake does stand out in her outfit. The color and design of her hair and her powers grab your attention. You can tell she has power. Mandrake and her BFF LJ are fighting to protect innocents against these creatures.
Mandy now is a cute girl with a voice in her head Alruin's and that fight with creatures may have just been a dream. So things are not what they seem for Mandy. Magic though is in the air.
Mandy is your typical seventeen year old teenager well accept for the whole magic thing.
The art does delivery some wonderfully expressive facial expressions. The art is beautifully presented as Mandy practices leaning magic. The colors are amazing.
This issue needed to explain more about Mandrake how did she get these powers and when and why does she want them? Who are the creatures after her? Some more action would have been nice to see and less teen angst. Overall this is a good introductory issue.
Mandy aka Mandrake is a cute girl with potential.

Comments: Mandy and Alruin opponents and battling hard against each other. Alruin has her distracted. Mandy is powerful and a fighter.
The use of colors to show off magic being used works so well here. It does deliver a atmosphere filled with magic.
Mandy in her outfit is a classic looking beauty.
Many is one powerful girl and she can push herself to her limits. She is illustrated as a classic beautiful in her retro style outfit. The monsters are dark creatures yet not all that scary. Alruin or Derek is the villain and he is evil just not very much. He controls magic as well. These two do battle but it is not all that exciting. It needed to be more head to head. Mandy does end up using all her magical ability and it shows how hard she can push herself when she needs to.
Mandy is making her own decisions here and in the end she does plan for her future. The relationship between her and her mother is one of caring both want her to have a future worth living. So she is about to start her life of magic for real. Continued?
