The Rat Cat of El Yunque National Forest

I have been to Puerto Rico twice and was surprised to hear so many strange stories from this island from ghostly hauntings to UFO and USO (Underwater Submerged Objects) sightings.  In the past I have briefly touched upon the paranormal activities of Puerto Rico and moved onto other topics.  What got me thinking about Puerto Rico again is reading something Nick Redfern said. Nick says: 

"My first trip to Puerto Rico was in 2004 – with a crew from the SyFy Channel’s Proof Positive show. While we were on the island, several of the local camera-team told us of a small village on the fringes of the El Yunque rainforest where many of the people had a strange condition. They had large, bald heads and an extra finger on each hand. We never had the chance to head out there and see the village for ourselves, so I can’t confirm it. But, it was the first time I realized that, in the eerie stakes, the Chupacabra was not alone."

Puerto Rico is an odd island.  The first mention of the blood sucking Chupacabra originates from this island.  The Chupacabra in Puerto Rico has scaly skin, small wings, large head, red eyes, claws, this is a completely a different description compared to the Texas Chupacabra, which is described looking more like a coyote with mange.  

The reason Puerto Rico could be an island of monsters and strange happenings is because it's so close to the infamous Bermuda Triangle. 

There are hundreds of supposed UFO sightings in Puerto Rico, the southern point of the Bermuda triangle. 

Nick Redfern mentions The Moca Vampire.  This is a cross between a big bird and pterodactyl.  In 1975 many farm animals were found violently slaughtered and credit was giving to The Mocha Vampire. Is it possible that The Moca Vampire is a cousin to the Puerto Rico's Chubacabra?

Another story that Nick Redfern heard about is a huge bird like creature, that was observed by a local.  This huge bird was sitting on a tree limb.  As the local watched this gigantic bird, it did not flap its wings, but merely opened its wings and rose into the air rapidly with little effort and then vanished.  

While sitting at the San Juan Airport and waiting for my flight to St. Thomas, I got into a conversation with a local named Sebastian De Leon, who was also flying to St. Thomas.  We talked about the Bermuda Triangle and a strange sighting that he experienced in 1978.  In 1978, he was 16 years old.  Sebastian and his father were hiking and exploring El Yunque National Forest when they came upon a very strange creature sitting in a tree.  The creature looked like a black and white house cat, but to there surprise, it had a long rat tail that was hairless.  Sebastian's father approached this strange feline to get a better look and the rat cat spit out an orange substance at Sebastian's father, that missed him by a few inches.  Sebastian's father looked at the orange substance that was now sitting upon some fallen leaves.  The leaves started dissolving.  Sebastian's father yelled out to Sebastian, that the orange substance was some kind of acid!  Sebastian's father picked up a rock and threw it at the strange creature.  The creature swiftly like a rat scaled up into the tree and leaped onto another tree.  It moved so quickly, that Sebastian and his father no longer could see it.  Sebastian claims that the creature had a long hairless rat tail, it was not normal and this was no house cat.  As Sebastian and his father walked away from the area, things got a bit stranger.  Sebastian and his father heard a strange beeping sound and looked around and didn't see anything.  Sebastian then looked into the sky and saw a bluish orb hovering in the sky, the size of a Volkswagon.  The bluish orb appeared to be observing them and hovered in one area for approximately 5 minutes, before it whisked away at incredible speed.  Sebastian says that this is the only paranormal experience he had in Puerto Rico, but it was an experience that he will never forget.  Sebastian wonders if somehow the rat cat creature was associated with the UFO and if the UFO was observing them, to monitor their reactions in encountering the rat cat.
