Comments: Lilya Litvyak is a female Soviet Flight Instructor. She looks gorgeous in her pj's and fuzzy slippers. Katya Budanova is a fellow Soviet Flight Instructor as well. These two do become actual fighter pilots for the Russian Army. The military needs them yet their superiors do not seem happy about getting them.
The men pilots are not overly thrilled about women pilots. Lilya proves in the air she knows what she is doing.
The planes look amazing in the air. The combat training scenes are full of aerial action that will have you on the edge of your seat. The art on the planes makes them come to life for you. Lilya in the air is something you do not want to miss.
Beautiful women pilots, drama, action, does make this a comic worth reading. Women here especially Lilya do not take a back seat to any man. She is a fighter pilot and better than most. This female is going to show the men just what she is capable of and have fun doing it.

Comments: Lilya and Katya enjoy a night out after Lilya's victory. Lilya is a free acting woman and knows how to enjoy herself.
We do get lots of drama here among the women pilots who are in training. Some just do not like others. At times it is hard to follow which one is which with Lilya and Katya.
The women pilots get to join in the fight. They face death in the sky. Four of them stand out and become part of a active Squadron.
The art illustrating the Squadrons in the air and in combat is amazing. It is done from a realistic point of view so not all shooting and fighting. You see them maneuvering into position.
Having Katya pining for Lilya is a underlining story that may cause problems for these two women. They are teammates and Lilya is in a semi relationship with a male pilot.
The aerial combat with female pilots showing they are just as good or better then men is wonderful to see in action. These women are exciting yet still grounded.

Comments: The aerial combat scenes with the planes in the air are beautifully illustrated. The action is intense. The planes are perfectly drawn and positioned ready for action in a dog fight. You will feel the danger these lovely ladies face in the sky.
Lilya shows us she is still tough even without her fighter plane. She finds danger is not only in the air but on the ground as well. We get a look at what Lilya is fighting for and it is touching. In war people die and not just from bullets.
There is drama here to and love among the pilots. Two people find love as a third is left out in the cold.
Each time you see the planes if flight you will marvel at the art. It will give you a feeling of flying yourself. This comic is worth picking up just to see these.
Lydia Litvyak is one woman who is making a name for herself. She is totally fearless.

Comments: The illustrations of the planes flying are just beautiful to see. These are stunning drawings that you really need to see. The colors jump look so perfect in the sky scenes. Two of the pilots have just achieved the title of Ace and they are both women.
Lily suffers a great loss. She morns for a while and than she acts. She wants to be in the air fighting, risking her life.
The Captain of the base does have respect for the pilots including the women ones. He stands up for the women. He recognizes their value.
Finally in this issue Katya lets Lily know how she feels. The response is surprising. Things though find Lily getting a transfer and going to the front to fight. That is what she wants most.
A lot happens in this issue and it creates some drama which is quickly gotten over. Well except for Lily who is focused on getting even by being in the air.
The pilots and all the settings are spot on. You will feel like you are there with these pilots. The two women you will get to know them well.
If you love high flying action this is for you.

Comments: Colonel Shestakov is now Lt. Litvyak and Lt. Budanova's commander. He is one sexiest man. The two women do show professionalism before his comments. The two pilots do get a mission. A very dangerous mission.
The two women pilots prove the best men for the job were women.
The air combat scenes or anytime these women are in the sky are just drawn beautifully. The angles are done to show off the planes to the best advantage. White Lily is one of the best combat fighters in the air and Snowhare her wing woman is great at her job.
Lilya gets downed and this affects Katya deeply. The emotions she feels run deep and her love for Lilya was strong. You will feel sorry for her and also proud. She learned something from Lilya and that is to live her life, hers and not what others want or expect.
These two brave heroic women fought hard for the right to fight for what they believed in. They were the two deadest women pilots.
This comic is based on true life events and these two women did really exist. They were both true heroes of the State.
"We Fight Until Dead." This motto fit Lilya perfectly and fits Katya as well.
