Part One: A Slayer takes on a werewolf and the action is intense. The art is amazing as it depicts the viscious werewolf and Slayer. His attitude this Slayer is fun he enjoys what he does and is good at it. Sterling Cross is no ordinary being. He does not look human even. He is definitely something more.
Wolvenheart is a monster hunting society and Van Helsing leads them and Tesla is also a part of it. Sterling Cross of course is their best slayer.
As we get a glimpse of the Queen in Black you can just feel the evil and danger coming from her. Sterling Cross here to we see he is a huge butt hole.

Comments: Something went seriously wrong with the time line and Sterling Cross must figure out how to fix it.
Seeing these people from history being used in this manner gives this comic such a force that it becomes unstoppable. This issue adds the Star Crossed Lovers to the mix and the Maid of Orleans. The way established characters are slightly changed to fit into this series works so well.
The settings deliver a ghastly atmosphere. The art on the creatures is stunning.
Van Helsing here is not what you would expect. Nothing here is, everything is different, changed in ways you would never expect.
The violence is amped up here. It is monster vs monster in a bloody killing spree.
This series does keep delivering surprise after surprise and the way it uses old characters in new ways is amazing. It does take a wonderful imagination to delivery these.
Just when you think nothing new can happen it does. You will be left wondering did that really just happen.
