Comments: A mother Kayla and her son Jake are going to spend time with her sister at Christmas. The aunt Tiana and her son Baby Al are family and after the loss Kayla and Jake suffered family should be comforting to have around.
The family end up going to church and there they meet Sister Anna and she is not your ordinary Sister. She has a dark side and a strange side to. Her actions say she is someone up to something and to be very careful around her. Well actually her actions would suggest you run fast and get away while you can.
For a past mistake every one hunded years an atonement is taken. Now Jake he is a special boy. He has suffered a loss and the last thing he needs is some High Priestess after him. And what is up with the ghostly figure?
Kayla and her sister Tiana have some friction between them. These two have been apart a long time. Now both are making an effort to mend things. Family is important.
The art is done showing off the characters as normal people just living their lives until something decides to get involved in their lives.
This issue does just start to hint at the supernatural things to come. It builds up some suspense.

Comments: Something supernatural is going on at the local church and it is not from Heaven. Things get deadly fast here.
Jake has been contacted by the occult. What is it this being wants from him?
Now this trouble originally started with the Witches of the Demeter Coven lead by the High Priestess. People fearing what they did not understand attacked this Coven and this changed things forever. Morella now lead the Coven which she had changed so it was now dark.
The art is dark and the coloring gives it a pastel look.
We do get filled in on what is happening. Morella's Coven is still here and they still want blood.
The story does move along slowly with not a whole lot happening. The main characters are just normal people who have suffered a loss. The evil characters do not come across as overly evil. They have a curse they carry out but is a long one. The ghosts are explained yet how they are here is not.
Sister Anna and the Deacon Samuel two representatives of the Church we find out may be more then just that in this ancient fight against evil. The ancient evil is rising up and demanding a sacrifice. The battle for a life has begun in this occult adventure.

Comments: We witness a son and his father and the scene is an emotionally charged one. Life is full of surprises.
Sara is facing black magic. Her plus two friends Jake being one and Al the other the Deacon Samuel is there to and together they investigate a park. Sister Anna shows up to and she is up to no good this Sister is not very friendly or helpful. She has something up her sleeve. The Kids and Deacon did try to learn something about what is going on just the good Sister got in the way.
At the church the Father has a chat with the Deacon and they do not see eye to eye. Meanwhile Jake's mother and grandmother have words and things do escalate. The grandmother is one psycho and she shows that here. Acting evil in the name of God is not right.
The Coven now they have people everywhere. You never know when someone working with them will jump out.
The comic does read like a grade B horror movie. The magic when you see it provides a frightening effect. The story though needs to explain things much better. Plus we need more focus on the characters and not just what is happening around them.
The art does show the characters drawn just how you would expect them to be and it fits in perfectly for the story.
Jake needs to be more of a focus in the story it is about him.
