Comments: In this world there are giant monsters that attack civilization. The Monster Matador is one of the planet's defenders.
The Monster Matador must make his way to Santa Monica where he will face the giant cockroach attacking it. The roach looks great it is drawn just how you would expect it to be. For the most part the black and white art is simply done. There are not much backgrounds.
This issue needed more action well it needed any action. There is none at all. The Monster Matador spends the entire issue traveling to get to Santa Monica where the monster is. The scenes showing the monster have it just sitting there. Some close ups of it attacking would have been nice to see.
Even the crash it happens but were is the excitement , the thrills? Not here.
The Monster Matador we do not get any character development. Why should we care about him other than he has a daughter. Why does he put his daughter in peril? The Monster Matador looks like he has potential.

Comments: Ok the giant monster is a Trilobite an ocean creature from 250 million years ago.
In this issue there are a lot of look a likes for famous super-heroes. The art does poke fun at the Spider-Woman one. Also lots of famous actors. Stallone and Schwarzenegger are drawn to look just like their real counterparts.
The Monster Matador is still on his way to fight the monster. He sure is taking a long time.
The art has minimal backgrounds. The Monster Matador is drawn well just he is not doing anything exciting. No battles. He is just traveling.
All the lookalikes launch an attack against the Trilobite. Finally there is some action. Against such a foe though they need help. Meanwhile the Monster Matador is still on his way using a plane, a horse and next a car. Will he ever arrive?
The pin-up of the Monster Matador is stunning. You can see his heroic nature come through in it.

Comments: More actors/action stars or are they the real thing as in Luke Skywalker and many more. It is fun to pick out and identify the various famous people drawn into the story. There are lots of them. They are drawn well enough so you can easily identify who they are. These are fun to see and see their personalities matching perfectly with who they are modeled on.
The Monster Matador has arrived. He is shown as a man of bravery. He confronts the giant monster head on. He does not flinch. His character though needs to be explored more, who is he and why does he do what he does?
The big fight scene with the monster and Monster Matador is anti-climatic. The actual fight has its moments. It could illustrated better to show the action.
The ending to the comic is clever and well done. It is a great use of several characters portraying actors.
This comic just gets better as it goes on.
