Comments: Alex Underwood works in Witness Aid Support and is there to help a victim of abuse. Myra’s husband a cop, Detective Blake Groves beat her severely.
Alex is drawn with beautiful blue eyes. The art has a subdued look to it which works so well here as things are happening and the story is slowly explaining itself.
As you read the story you cannot help but notice the bracelet on Alex’s arm.
Is Alex going crazy? Maybe? Is it something more? Maybe?
Alex is going through a lot. Also the Witchblade, the Artifact has changed so you are not dealing with exactly what you were before in previous comic books.
The smoke like effect around Alex as the Witchblade is active looks amazing.
as the Witchblade in Alex manifests it is unlike anything seen before in a Witchblade comic. You can just feel its power emanating from the page.
It is always great to see an abusive person get what they truly deserve.
This is a wonderful first issue to start a new adventure for the Witchblade and its host.

Comments: Alexandra Marie Underwood she died and came back as something different. She has been chosen to fight the powers of evil. A dead abusive cop attacking her definitely fits the bill.
This version of the Witchblade is different than previous ones.
There is no action in this issue but several characters are featured. There is some kind of magic involved with crooked cops. Alex has been dropped right in the middle of it all.
The Witchblade is shown and its tendrils do start to come out but not fully. The thing is dangerous and it wants to attack evil. Will Alex be able to control it and herself or will she give in to it as the mysterious Ash wants.
The art is just there with nothing special about it. Some poses showing off the characters better would be nice to see.
Alex is a good person here though after dying things may be changing. Sometimes it takes a not so nice person to handle the forces of evil.

Comments: Alex s called in to help with a child abduction. The case is handled quickly by her. It turns out she is really good at her job.
Alex gets to take on some creature. What is it? She does use the Witchblade against it. The Witchblade has power but it does not seem like much at least the way it is illustrated.
The art comes across as ok but without any good poses. Alex, the creature, the Witchblade all need to be shown off better. We only get glimpses of the Witchblade.
There are mysteries here. Who is Ash? What is this version of the Witchblade? What will this all mean to Alex?
The story is strange in how it is presented. Alex seems like she would make a nice match with the Witchblade but the story does not get into her bond with it. The story kind of flows along and does not focus on much of anything.
Alex might well be a wonderful character. Hopefully we can find out more about her and the Witchblade.

Comments: They do make it a point to mention Alex dead. She died and came back to life.
The story follows Alex as she goes through her now daily routine which is no longer so routine. It is presented though in a slow manner and not all that interesting.
Even as Alex is drowning in cold freezing water it is done in a boring way. Where is the excitement? There is a second of it as she breaks the water's surface. How does the Witchblade help her here? It is not explained.
Here we start to take a look into Alex's past. Again though very little is explained. She had some kind of traumatic thing in her past. How and what is happening now again not fully explained. To many questions.
The art for the characters leaves them looking as if they are part of the background. Nothing makes them stand out. The only panel that does slightly is when the Witchblade acts in the cold water.
The Witchblade may be a powerful weapon for fighting demons but here you are not given that idea. Alex as the new bearer of the Witchblade is a left down.
