Comments: Monica and her dad are having problems. He lost his wife recently and her her mother. Both are suffering from it. Monica is taking it out on her dad. Yet both are so sad and heart broken.
The art is somber as is the story.
The dad does have a good idea in getting chickens for their new country place of living.
In the country Monica is out enjoying a nature walk. Something happens and she goes to her dad for help. At first he is concerned as he should be then he is annoyed. He should have been more understanding of his daughter.
The emotional turmoil between father and daughter is well done. The creature attack is subdued but this is a comic geared more towards kids so that is expected.
This issue does set the story up and introduce the main characters and their situations. Monica is shown being to hard on her dad but her dad does not support her fully either so both are acting uncaring towards each other due to the mother/wife's death.
This issue does lay the ground work and gets you interested in what is to come.

Comments: Monica was attacked. Monica's dad was out of line in how he treated her. He does show later than he is a good father and that he cares.
Something happened to Monica out in the woods. The art is easy to follow as it shows Monica dealing with this. Something is happening, changing with her.
Monica does have her first night out after the change. The art does not show much blood as this is an all ages comic. It does show Monica turning wild and running free at night.
What happened to the werewolf who turned her? It is still out there somewhere and a threat.
Monica and her dad do find themselves in a situation unlike any father/daughter one. Monica was bitten and now she runs free at night as a werewolf and her dad well he knows something is up and wants answers. These two have been struggling since Monica's mother died so will this bring them closer together or rip them asunder.
Having the story both focusing on the father and daughter relationship and the werewolf aspect make for a horror tale infused with good family values.

Comments: Monica does go to her dad for help and comfort and for someone to believe in her. For a dad he is hesitant. This does speak volumes about their relationship.
Monica's dad does help her. He help's her to control what she is. They work together her dad and her. They do start to slowly bond.
Monica is learning how to use her new abilities.
Now the werewolf who turned her is still out there hunting. Her and her dad just know the right thing to do is to stop him.
Monica as a werewolf is nice in the way she is not fully bestial and still remains somewhat understanding that she is still human. We see her as a newly formed werewolf and one already on the hunt. She is hunting the hunter. Will her and her dad be able to handle what they find?
