Hamlet – Starring Donald Duck is one of series of books based on classic historical stories. I also noticed that Dark Horse Comics has also published book called Treasure Island graphic novel starring Mickey Mouse and Moby Dick starring Donald Duck. Disney's Frankenstein starring Donald Duck. The stories bring interest in classics. They are told in way Disney characters would intrepid stories. Many in cast from Disney stories interact with characters from each of the classic stories. The stories are told in two parts. The stories help to bring young readers into world of authors like Herman Melville, Robert Louis Stevenson and William Shakespeare. The stories might also get readers interested in reading classic books or plays. It took me about hour to read each story. The stories are in color. The back of each story also has a history page of each author. I liked learning about William Shakespeare about his life. He lived from (1564-1616). His plays have been performed on both stage and film. He enhanced the English language by introducing over 2,000 words and usages of vocabulary. And his characters have become icons, widely referenced throughout history and the arts.
I would also suggest just seeing if library has copy of Disney Presents Hamlet or other three books in classic series.
Quote from back cover about Disney Hamlet, starring Donald Duck.
Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck star in this adaption of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
When prince Ducklet receives a visit from the ghost of King Scrooge, his missing uncle, Scrooge reveals that his place as king has been usurped by the scheming Rocklaudius who is now sitting on the throne. The only one able to see and hear Scrooge, Ducklet assumes his duty of restoring peace to the court and serving justice to those who have conspired against the King!
