Back cover quote
An electrifying adaption of the classic tale by Mary Shelley, starring Donald Duck!
Donald Duck is Doctor Victor von Duckenstein- a doctor with the talent for creation. Drawing inspiration from old books of science, Victor finds the means to make his vision into a reality. Through countless experiments, he develops a breathing, creature of monstrous appearance with intentions unknown. What has Victor created and what does the creature want?
End quote.
This is a juvenile fiction story. It takes many of basic ideas in Mary Shelley novel and incorporates them with Donald Duck characters. I have read many comic books involving Frankenstein. This story though only involves Mary Shelly’s version of Frankenstein. Huey, Louie, and Dewey made appearances. They are Donald Duck’s nephews in regular Disney comic books and cartoons. Daisy Duck was even in story. They all though had different names in Frankenstein story.
Frankenstein was called Duckenstein. The graphic novel was wrote by Mary Shelduck instead of Mary Shelly. The story was actually wrote by Bruno Enna.
I enjoyed Disney Frankenstein starring Donald Duck. The story is told in two parts. There is also a biographical page of text about Mary Shelley
I liked enough to check out from library actual classic Frankenstein novel by Mary Shelly. I read novel many years ago in college.
I also noticed Disney Dracula starring Mickey Mouse story has also been published on July 30th, 2019.
