Story: Venus- Immortal Goddess of Love from Mount Olympus. Super powered hero on Earth.
Valkyrie - Suzanne Bancroft. Sword Maiden of Asgard. Mortal.

Story title:" Love Under Fire."

Person without super powers although very wealthy bought necklace on auction for 7.7 million dollars. The auctioneer said:" Legend has it these jewels will bring good luck in love." The person who bought necklace was named Jonathan Garrett. He was owner of the largest software company in the world.

He did some sort of ceremony to make Goddess of Love fall in love with him. He then kept her in control by making her wear necklace. I think time of story was set in 1991. The location for most of story was Madison High School 10th year school reunion. Jonathan wanted to impress his classmates by coming to reunion with Goddess of Love. What was sad was another old Classmate Jenny Baker was also at reunion. Jonathan asked her to Prom many years ago. Jenny did not like Jonathan at that time. The reunion was time of horror. Many people suffered by Jonathan's goal to hurt people or classmates that hurt him in many ways in high school at Madison. Things got so bad Valkyrie was watching reports of terrible activies being broadcast on television. She instantly went to try to get Venus to recognize under control of necklace. Venus had actually hurt several people at reunion.

Orion had to also help destroy necklace.

I also saw Jenny actually had very strong love feelings for Jonathan. She said she would wait for him even though he would be going to jail for long period of time.

I also liked that issue was lettered by Jazma alumnus Warren Montgomery.
