The wintertime is seen spiritually, as well as physically- to be a time of death & premonition for the new year's.
Omens for the life ahead will begin to appear all around us, especially signalizing renewal & resurrections.
All over the world there is scary Christmas ghosts & monsters.
Such as Charles Dickens, the ghost of Christmas Yet to Come (in the future).
While unlike the two previous Spirits who come at the stroke of one, this one appears at the last stroke of twelve.
Also, for the children who ask Santa Claus for special items on a wish list-
well, you just might get the Krampus instead!
The demonic Krampus who comes to scare children away from being a bad person.
(a precursor to the devil taking your soul.)

The birth of Jesus was thought to ward away evil in this world.
Surrounding your home and mind with angelic beings is strong during this season. You will often find them everywhere.

especially in France in the 16th century & it's a popular custom in the United States to have one as well.
On top,
is a star to symbolize Heaven's protection & guidance, (or an angel.)

Black birds, witches, crows & haunted forests all depict scary scenes set for all the regular spirits we know, the ghosts.
Friends and family members that we had,
which passed away can be honored and acknowledged by lighting a candle & placing it in your window.

The author basically summarizes his own experiences at Christmas time & passes them on to the culture.
(Examples, such as, walking the streets up & down while looking at decorations, & buying gifts.)
Written by Ludwig Tieck, it's considered to be the first Christmas Story by many people.
Some people may confuse this title with the German version of “A Christmas Carol,” (where an old man despises Christmas, but then he’s visited by three ghosts who change his heart.).
“Frohe Weihnachten!” is a greeting which means "Merry Christmas" in Germany.
Traditionally, people like to have scrumptious foods and look at illuminated lights all over the towns & cities.
We have gotten very accustomed to this in our country too.
Some popular foods that we have in common with them are meats drenched in sauces, birds, baked items like pies, puddings, casseroles, with buttery fruits and sugared potatoes & stuffing.
It seems in Germany they eat seafood during this holiday, while to eat that here at Christmas time is not really a big deal.
It's about partaking in the abundance stored and saved from the year, both spiritually and in materialistic aspects & sharing with each other too.
One tradition of Christmas in Ireland is a large white candle & place this at the entrance of the house or in a window too.
This is all made to ward evil away from the coming ages.

St Nicholas Day is a German holiday.
On the night of December 5, children will display their boots and leave them outside the door,
before going to sleep.
The next day, they will find their shoes will be filled with nuts, candy, and other gifts from St Nicholas.

We do that in America too, where we fill up Christmas Stockings (oversized socks.)
with the same type of items & favors.

especially around these festivities is known as
"Rituals."
Despite your belief system or birthrights,
many people consider these cosmic journeys as a path to enlightenment, love & peace.
It's unlucky to be hateful, especially on these sacred dates!
Because it is felt that there are many powerful spirits near, to protect those filled with light & hope.

This folktale character is known as ‘Snegurochka.’
She typically comes out and haunts people in the snow and when spring comes, she simply melts & dissapears
yet, reappears in the winter again. She seems so real, that she fools many people unknowingly into thinking she's an actual child.
Some other tales suggest she is Santa Clause's granddaughter.
If she gets to near a stove or fire, for example- she melts!

Spanish traditions refer to Christmas Eve as Nochebuena.
In other places it is oftentimes referred to as Noche Buena, La Cena de Nochebuena or Navidad,
which means “Good Night” in Spanish.
Typically, families come together and eat large meals and connect before the ending of the year.
A red poinsettia has become the symbol for this.
In Mexico, where the flower is native, it is called the "flor de Nochebuena," or Christmas Eve flower.
It is the symbol for purity, blood, life.
In ancient Aztec culture, the color red was so important that this flower was actually used to dye clothes with.
Meanwhile, Peru and Chile, cherished the poinsettia too & nicknamed it the “Crown of the Andes."
According to some tales,
A girl set herbs as a gift at the crèche of the nativity on Christmas Eve, where the angels transformed them into beautiful red flowers, instead of weeds.
This is partly why red, and green are the main colors of Christmas today.
