NMM x Night Love x Scandinavian Desserts
Scandinavia is a large peninsula in northwestern Europe, currently occupied by Norway and Sweden.
The culture itself spreads from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Finland & the Faroe Islands.
Below are some of the best & most traditional foods.
(Mainly desserts.)
NMM x Night Love x Scandinavian Desserts
Raspberry Coffee
X
Raspberry Coffee
Lilac frosting
A cookie cutter home
Where I drank the cloudy hail
Of a storm
Euphoric
From the mountaintops of some
new religion
What else
Was the weather for
But chatting about each other
An enchanting cocktail
On holiday
A brew of magic
so delicious
a jelly filled red jewel
so icy summer forgave me
For trespassing
and I started dreaming
about a fire on a hill spreading
Starting from such a critic
Which was hardly a premonition
Only trusting in
Myself
Which either way I would have
Wound up in hell
Killed
Bound up by ice cream ribbons
Melting eggshells
Turning Heaven into several wax oils
A marshmallow like concoction
With no direction or well
To spring from
Except the milk of my mother herself
Until a happiness trapped me inside
Whose secrets are an hour away
From jail itself
A lattice of sugar
Wettened from the juice of a flower
Containing the shapelessness of seeds & trails
Tiles on the floor
A dirty door
crumbled
Down
Unforgiving
numbers
deceiving
themselves
What else
A hotel of his fashion
A key on the shelf

Sweden Desserts
A common pattern that a lot of Swedish desserts have is a sticky covering, fruits layers and milky chocolates.
Most of the desserts are made like pastry, generally including basic ingredients such as egg, butter & flour. While the flavors are added easily, without overthinking the recipes. There are a lot of variations and different ways to decorate them.
Powdered sugars, jellies and doughnuts are very sweet & filling.
Some of my favorites are puddings, cinnamon breads & the pastries- especially with a lot of butter & jelly.

Swedish drinks
A good pairing to go with any dessert is a hot beverage.
It's a good idea to get something complimentary to a sugary palette of icing, such as a drink with a lot of flavors.
The alcoholic ones have similar seasonings with cherry, lime, wheat, cinnamon & another holiday celebration favorite of course, cranberry.
Mostly, every flavor can be added to any cup of tea, coffee or juice as well.
Swedish Desserts
The breads are one of the main staples of a seasonal diet, especially during wintertime and late nights of celebration.
All the herbs of the area are easily available, & traditionally spicy- such as ginger, eggnog, almond & heavy creams (which are used in everything edible.).
It is a representation of the energy in an emotional & spiritual boundary of food & religion.
Alot of Danish desserts are made into ball shapes, such as pancakes, doughnuts & cookies to represent wholeness of coming together.
They are especially enjoyed with friends and family.

Christmas in Sweden
fairytales
According to Swedish folklore & history, "Tomte" is the name of the Christmas gnome who lives in the forest.
He is also the Swedish equivalent to our Santa Claus and hands out gifts he gathers up. So, "Merry Christmas" greeting in Swedish is actually "God Jul".
A wishful selection of good health & energy, meant to protect you from the harshness of the weather & cold.
Christmas is celebrated throughout December and usually about the middle of the next year too.
(St. Knut's Day on January 13.)
Saint Knut's Day
(translation.)
(Swedish: tjugondag jul, lit. 'twentieth-day Christmas'; tjugondag Knut, lit. 'twentieth-day Knut'; or knutmasso; Finnish: nuutinpäivä, lit. 'Knut's Day'),
or the exact feast time of Saint Knut himself, is held in Sweden and Finland on the month of January's count.
More about this is the date the decorations & trees are removed- a representation of the prince being replaced by a saint of a royal authority within the past & future as well (presently).
Canute Lavard- was a Danish duke who was assassinated by his own cousin on January 7, 1131 so he could have the Danish throne.
In the aftermath of his death a civil war developed, which led to him being declared a saint, and January 7 became Knut's Day.
Because it so closely resembled a similar holiday it was moved to January 13 in 1680.
Or the essence is also known as the "removal day" of everything in place beforehand.

Danish Christmas
The Danish style Christmas is set on December 24.
It is a time for family members to get together and enjoy the festivities of one another.
Typically, there is a large feast with a meal including meats, potatoes & other specialties but, also a large focus on homemade desserts.
The Danish have Christmas trees like pine & evergreens, and they give gifts and have a similar exchange of goodwill & blessing that we do in America too.
A homemade dinner would be a gravy sauce, especially made for mashed potatoes, a large bird like a turkey and caramelized onions & potatoes, pies & soups.
Again, it is very similar to our heritage and focus of Christmas here in the United States.
Christmas in Ireland
Christmas in Ireland is the annual date which marks the Christian celebration of the birth of Jesus.
Church is a very integral part of the holiday customs of this island and an important seat of attendance for many spiritual bodies.
The names Ireland and Éire derive from Old Irish word "Ériu", known as a goddess in the Irish mythology first recorded in the ninth century of the world.
There were so many ways to nurture the people emotionally, especially with food, like a home cooked meal, so to honor each other is wellness.
Lighting a candle is very important & considered lucky- especially on the windowsill or above the doorway but, generally a great addition to the dinner table & it will bring forward enlightenment & love.
