The movie “Honk” occurred during time of Covid epidemic. The scene was in Texas. The story is about time when social distancing was very common. It was hard to gather with large groups. Adult Cheryl Allison attempts to keep busy and also exercising body by taking walks in the park. This is not zoo. She finds full grown goose who is very friendly. This went against everything she knew about wild creatures. She befriended goose. She and goose created much needed bond during epidemic. She learned that goose was probably domestic goose. It may have been given as gift as duckling. Over course of many weeks spent lots of time with goose that was probably let go as goose. Just too big for pet. The goose though had bonded to people and needed them to help in life. She also took videos of goose and posted them online and got quite a media gathering of visitors to websites like Facebook and other social places.
It was learned that “Honk” needed place to live. There were no other geese at park at time decision was made to move Honk to Texas habitat.
There are several books also wrote about Honk and an activity book. I watched documentary 5 times. I noticed DVD at library. 2022 DVD. I think teen to adult due to conclusion.
The back cover says:
Sometimes all we need is a friend.
The power of love shines in this heartwarming tale of friendship and inspiration between an unlikely duo. Cheryl inadvertently befriends a mourning goose, Honk, while recycling in the local park. As the budding friendship blossoms and Cheryl seeks Honk a new home, he becomes a viral sensation capturing the hearts and minds of millions.
