The entrance to the Laguna Creek Wetlands is on Francesca. You can park all along Francesca. Try to park close to the Wetlands entrance if you can. You will see me standing there at the entrance and my car (Red Kia Rio) with its ghost signs. If somehow you get lost, call me on my cell (916) 203 7503.
What you will see during the tour:
DOGMAN SIGHTING LOCATION:
In 1962 there was a Dogman sighting in the Laguna Creek Wetlands, I will show you where the sighting took place at. You can read the story here: www.costaricantimes.com/dogman-of-laguna-creek-wetlands/57397 - What is interesting is that in 1953 there was a Dogman sighting in Sacramento. There are a few stories that Dogman is still around the Wetlands. I have found no evidence of any present day sightings. The last sighting was in 1962.
GIANT SALAMANDER SIGHTING LOCATION:
There was a giant salamander sighting in the Wetlands, as seen here:
www.unexplained-mysteries.com/column.php?id=176825
Come to find out, it was two UC Davis students that released this salamander.
GHOST ACTIVITY AREAS:
In 1849, there was a cholera epidemic in Sacramento. Families in caravans with sick adults and children would park their caravans next to the large clump of Eucalyptus trees to shelter from the wind. The eucalyptus trees were imported from Australia. Legend has it that a few sickly children died near this clump of Eucalyptus trees and a little girl ghost can sometimes be heard sobbing and crying in the wetlands. Interesting note Eucalyptus tree leaves have been used as medicine and is known to have healing properties. At times the leaves are used as smudge wands. Some of these people in caravans tried to heal their sickly children with these leaves. I have actually gotten a few EVPs in this location that I will show you. IF YOU HAVE GHOST HUNTING EQUIPMENT - BRING IT.
Old Farmhouse / Blacksmith Site - Historical Marker
Then I will show you the old farmhouse / blacksmith site historical marker. At this location, I captured strange blue orbs in my photographs.
Besides the paranormal oddities at the Wetlands, you will see the many markers that identify the wildlife located near the trails and the types of plants that grow in the Wetlands. It will be an enjoyable walk with various stops along the way. The walk is not strenuous, it's pretty relaxing and some cool stuff to look at. See you all there!
