Comments: Anamorphic animals are used here. The art and story both start out serious looking and reading as we see Flo heading out to fish. In this fishing town there are lots of variety of anamorphic beings and they are all just going about their daily lives. It is a quaint town with nice friendly people in it.
Well not all the people are friendly as Eddy a known troublemaker is given a chance on the fishing boat. Roddy a crew mate is not impressed. The Skipper his Grandad says he is coming. Flo and the Twins are hard workers. Eddie tries he is just not good at anything. The Skipper has altimers which is disconcerting.
Shooting stars have been falling and things do seem off. When they get back to dock they are still off.
The characters are all drawn is a beautiful style that lets you know they are just ordinary people going about their lives. They work and fraternize. We see work mates who are also friends. In this small town now something has changed and these ordinary people now find themselves in a situation that is a total mystery and they have no idea what to do next.
The characters you do learn about each one so yu will start to care about them its just that they all seem so laidback. They do seem like family though.

Comments: All the main characters are doing the one thing you should never do and that is split up. Something is going on with the town deserted. Something is not right. All the anamorphic animals act completely like humans. Flo now she is the one with a head on her shoulders and she knows what is best and it actually is.
There is a humming sound that all can here. Shooting stars is mentioned again so yes they must have something to be with whatever is wrong. So The Skipper, Eddy and the two kittens do find where the towns people went and this brings more mysteries.
The way these anamorphic animals behave does have the reader paying attention to everything that is happening. Flo and Roddy find one person Ms. Bernie Pye not affected by whatever is happening like they are not. Than the story starts to unfold more and we see them. They also see one of the kittens and things do go badly. These few people know nothing of what has been going on but they are finding out fast now that they do not like it at all. The nightmare has started. Things are getting weirder.
The story does have a The War of the Worlds feel to it. Even the Lamp Posts and smaller versions of them by their design and how they move give one that impression.
The tension and mysteries just keep coming.

Comments: The aliens in town while the free townsfolk are going to the lighthouse the only safe place left. The anamorphic animals are totally in character as if they were humans. Except for the way they are drawn as animals looking and acting like a human you would think they are.
What is happening with the invasion is slowly being revealed.
Skip, Roddy, Flo, Eddie and Bernie are all holed up hiding and they do just sit around. What else can they do? Going out could get them killed or controlled. Flo does have a brain in her head as she comes up with a few great ideas.
The group of five get out to see what the aliens are up to. What they find is a danger to many more then just the five of them. The aliens have been busy in the month since they landed.
There is a lot of buld up here to the threat these aliens provide. Also the characters of these anamorphic animals and the way they are presented creates a group of people that are so interesting and the fact they are animals is somethig you hardly notice as strange because in this world it is not.

Comments: Well our little group is planning on sabatage. They have a plan to save their friends and the town's people. The plan is dangerous and yes they could lose their very lives. The aliens are controling so many people. There plan was a good one just not good enough. So they get another plan. These may be common folk but they are willing to fight for their freedom and others.
Roddy and Eddie pay Thom a visit looking to get some explosives. Thom looks ready for a fight.
Flo, Roddy, Eddie, Bernie, and Skipper are who remain. They are doing whatever they can. The aliens do not know it yet these five people are determined.
The group of five are illustrated beautifully as common animorphic people and the aliens are strange looking things you need to see for yourself.
This issue needed a more to happen. To much is just the characters standing around. We do see a whole group of the aliens yet all they do is walk forward, other than the one that stands there and gets shot. We need to learn more about these aliens and what it is they want. Yes the story is a little like War of the Worlds but that had lots more action. Having some suspense would be nice to see as well.
Thom the blind old guy with the explosives is a nice addition to the group fighting to free the town's folk.

Comments: Skip, Flo, Ms Bernie Pye are getting the lighthouse in working order. They are waiting for Mr. Packer, Roddy and Eddie to join them. Thom is a bulldog with firepower and explosives. All of these half people half animals plan to take the fight to the alien invaders.
So the group has a plan and are all set to see it through. Skipper and Bernie set up the distraction as the rest head out to sabatage these aliens. Flo, Roddy and Eddie along with Thom are delivering the mine. Their plan though does not fully work which means trouble. How will they deal with it?
This is a nice varied collection of characters based off of different animals. Their personalities do stand out. We see they have become determined to fight to save the peole of their town.
The alien invaders look like huge lamp posts which does make one want to know why? What are these aliens, where are they from and what do they want here? Lots of mysteries abound.
The art looks amazing on the characters as it brings out their personalities. The aliens are tentacled lamp posts that are threatening. Are the aliens the lamp post or inside it? Hopefully in coming issues a lot more about these aliens will be revealed.

Comments: Skip and Bernie are maning the lighthouse as the aliens approach. These three aliens go all out as they attack the lighthouse. They blow it apart and rip it to hell.
Roddy and Flo are distracting an alien. Eddie and Thom meanwhile are still driving the truck with the explosive on it. Thom is the detonator for the bomb. He is a senile old man yet he still knows what he is doing. As the aliens return and one attacks Thom he stays with the bomb just long enough.
The characters are wonderfully done and each one stands out in its own way. There is excitement but somehow it is done in a subdued manner.
The aliens are designed as walking lamp posts. This design is never explained. It does though add an interesting look and aspect to the comic.
A few unexpected things happen in this the final issue. The ending may not be what you expected yet it is fitting. Humans well animorphic animals acting as humans will fight back against any invading force. People want to be free and if you take that away they do not give up easily. They do not give up at all they fight on as long and hard as they can even the non military, the common people will fight for their rights.
