Comments: A child is caught in a fire while a firefighter tries to reach her. The child is terrified of the Fire Man. This child fears the Fire Man more than anything even the fire that is about to kill them.
Than we skip ahead twelve years. The child is now a young woman and one who is interested in following any local fires.
Vic is a firefighter and as he is fighting a fire something strange happens. You can feel Vic's dedication and caring as he works to help others.
The young woman's name is finally revealed its Amy. She saw the Fire Man when she was little and now he has returned. He appears to be some sort of demonic creature. Yes he is starting fires and it looks like he may be targeting Amy. The art on the Fire Man is amazing and the fires are outstanding. You will know fire is to be feared.
The mystery surrounding the Fire Man continues. There are a ton of unanswered questions about him and also about Amy. Both characters have something about them that makes you want to come back and learn more.

Comments: Ms. Durant is somehow tied into the fires being set.
A man is attacked yet this is no ordinary attack. Something within the flames of a fire has something to do with it. The set does present this scene as suspenseful as it builds up the terror of what is happening. Is it something more than it seems.
Hope's House Headquarters here Ms. Durant is looking for Jade. Patricia LeFleu runs the Hope business. Now these characters all need to be introduced. Who are they and why are they important to this story. Aw Ms. Durant is the Amy who can see the Fire Demon or whatever it is. The art makes it hard to tell if she is a she or he.
The story itself is a good one and presents mysteries. Just the story is not delivered in a way to keep you interested. There is no excitement. The fire being is not shown very well in this issue. The story does not progress at all.
Why is this fire being interested in Amy? Yes we see Amy does say she is obsessed with it but we do not see this in her actions. She is said to be a fire chaser yet again we do not see it.
The small drawing of a man within fire on the last page is well drawn. Another man is shown with no explanation as to who he is? Lots of questions with no answers. Some answers are needed to hold the readers interest.

Comments: Amy is still thinking and dreaming about the fire demon.
There are multiple fires going on and the fire department is responding. The scenes of fire do show that they are dangerous.
Jade this girl who we have no idea who she is is going into the fire. Why? To burn herself but again why?
Vic a firefighter while fighting a fire comes across a scene it is one of a frightening situation.
The story explains nothing about this fire demon if that is what he is. Why is he doing what he is doing, who or what is he? What does the old style lantern have to do with him?
Amy is just a girl chasing after her family's killer. She just follows fires in the hopes of seeing him. If she does what does she plan to do? She has no plan.
This story needs a focus. Yes the fire scenes are good and they deliver on showing just how bad fires can be.

Comments: Several firemen are investigating the cause of a fire. Vic finds out he is in a situation he does not want to be in below ground in the sewers. He is in grave danger. What is going on here? What are the other firemen really up to?
Amy Durant is out doing some snoping around. She just wants to find her missing friend.
Now a lantern or lanterns seems to be tying things together.
Who or what is Kindling? Is he the fire demon? The art does bring out his visage good. Yet overall the art does not show detail as much as it should. Kinding is a mysterious figure yet nothing other than he likes fire is learned about him. What is his purpose?
The story needs to flow better and present itself in an easier way so the reader understands what is going on and who the characters are and why they are here.
Amy needs to have her emotions coming out more in the art and in her interacts. She comes across as a mostly bland character as do most characters in this book.
