Comments: Nancy is drawn cute with her big eyes and a very nicely drawn butt. As she climbs a rope her mind just keeps going. She is thinking about life in general. She has a sweet attitude.
Nancy has two associates/friends here to help her out Noah Jessup and Mia Hudson. These three do seem to click nicely.
The comic is a fun read filled with fun characters and the story flows along smoothly.
Nancy than returns to Bayport and is greeted by Bess Marvin and George Fayne her friends and former partners in crime. Nancy basically decided to almost completely ignore her friends while she was away at school, this is out of character for past incarnations of Nancy Drew.
Nancy gets some more help from a few old friends who are also back in town. It is a nice coincidence.
The action, excitement and yes danger have started. Nancy is heading into danger and a mystery to solve.

Comments: Nancy, Bess, George and Frank and Joe Hardy as kids are shown exploring a cave for pirate treasure. Than it happens and Nancy's world is never the same.
Present day Nancy and friends are in that cave again. There is a mystery to be solved and Nancy is in solving mode.
The art has a cartoon look to it. It is not flattering to any of the characters.
Pete is introduced and may be a love interest for Nancy. The two of them are shown starting to have feeling for each other. We also get Pete's backstory. So we know who he is.
As Nancy is trying to solve a mystery she gets one more. The mysteries just keep coming.
This issue though did not have a lot of excitement. Plus the art suffers. Nancy though is still out looking for clues and does find one. She is a detective after all.

Comments: Nancy is somehow involved with a murder or murders. Here we see that all her friends are concerned about her. Actually the case involves two murders, one old and one new.
Nancy is shown here as a human being with feelings and emotions. Her friends are a weird group but fun. This mystery is laid back with no excitement. There are no thrills. The drama between the friends is more distraction from working on the mystery than anything else. Frank being jealous, Bess and Joe starting a romance, George being a lesbian and addicted to caffeine.
Calling Nancy, Nance just comes across as strange.
Joe and Bess are making a great team and couple.
Nancy does finally get into the mystery and working to solve it. You can sense the danger around her and Pete. Nancy Drew is a bit of a mess inside yet she does carry on. She will not stop until the mystery is solved.

Comments: Nancy and her friends do go out investigating but the way it is presented is slow and boring. She finally does push someones buttons. How or why though we are not told.
The harping on of Nancy not using her phone gets annoying real fast.
The characters are illustrated as young teens and they do look like just that and not overly professional. Nancy does not come across as the professional you might expect she seems to have a slight direction but then just wonders around. Nancy should be more focused.
Even having Bess is trouble you do not get the feeling of extreme danger and others might be planning to murder her. The art is to soft and has you expecting cute and cuddly rather than dangerous.
Nancy does look cute and so does Bess.

Comments: Bess has been taken and we can clearly see how upset Nancy is. Things are revved up here in the danger department and the stakes just went through the roof. Nancy finds proof of criminal activity.
The romance between Joe and Bess is a lovely addition to this story. These two go together so well. Maybe romance is in the air for Nancy as well.
The story here moves along well enough and there is action and even an explosion yet it is not presented all that well. It does not come across as exciting or thrilling. There is some sense of danger just it is not presented in a manner to bring across the feeling of people in danger.
The art is subdued. It has a nice easy feel to it. You get the feeling the characters are all relaxed.
The ending to this case is anti-climatic. The start of the next case rolls in slowly with no build up.
Nancy is a wonderful character just she needs to be used better. She is a cute girl with skills and a knack for finding trouble or it finding her.
