Comments: Gabrielle finds herself in some trouble. She is illustrated as one cute girl with big breasts. The colors look fantastic on her and the comic. Three thieves find her.
The full page pin-up style art of Xena as you turn the page to it is stunning. Beautiful and fierceness combine perfectly in her.
The thieves against Xena well they know the better part of valor and run away. Xena may not be a murderous Warlord anymore but she can still hurt you bad.
This issue has the first meeting between Xena and Gabrielle. Right from the start you can tell these two are meant to be together.
The art shows both Xena and Gabrielle as women yet it does not overdue their sexuality but does present them as both beautiful.
Gorgeous art and a fun story with action make this a great start for this series about the Warrior Princess and her companion.

Comments: Xena still has guilt in her over her actions from when she was an evil warlord. She was a merciless killer. Her army was just like her to. Xena still has these memories within her.
You can see the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle right away. Xena is harder and tougher while Gabrielle is more caring and more feminine. Gabrielle is also annoying.
Calisto is drawn as a beautiful evil woman and she wants Xena. as you see her you know trouble is coming.
As Xena and Gabrielle continue on their way to Athens their journey gets more interesting. Watching Xena fight a couple of cyclops is entertaining. These cyclops are big and not overly bright. It is funny as they try to think.
The outfits of Xena and Gabrielle do fit the period setting.
The issue could have used more excitement. The chats between Xena and Gabrielle were not all the deep. Gabrielle has not learned to listen to Xena which creates problems.
Xena the Warrior Princess is a character that anyone who loves sword and sorcery tales and a good strong female lead will be sure to enjoy.

Comments: Gabrielle starts her arrival in Athens with a little adventure. Than she finds Xena. Now Gabrielle puts on a show and shows she is a great actor. Her skills of telling stories pays off here as the unthinkable happens and she rescues Xena. Xena is none to happy about it. The writing and art both clearly show how these two feel.
Xena stars a barroom brawl and bashes a few men.
Gabrielle is reunited with her sister Lila. But why and what will it lead to?
This issue is a little slow. Not a lot happens. You do get to see Xena and Gabrielle a fair amount walking around the city.
Xena is no longer a murderous warlord so now she can be attacked in other ways than she could be before. Someone is out to get her and it is a mystery who.
Just seeing Xena drawn to look like a warrior princess gets you expecting excitement.

Comments: Gabrielle has been taken along with others including her sister to be sold into slavery. They are aboard Callisto's ship. Gabby is a fighter and her personality of never giving up shines here. She keeps trying to escape.
Xena has a nice look to her face with her expressions. There is a little humor mixed in with the story. Also we see Xena and Gabrielle showing signs that they are similar which is a nice touch to the story.
As Xena attacks a guard the scene and pose are so full of excitement and action. Xena has fighting skill.
Callisto wants revenge on Xena and in this Callisto is right. For what Xena did she deserves to die by Callisto's hand. Xena has become a better person and is no longer the warlord leading an army and murdering others but does that excuse her past actions.
The three main women here are all beautifully illustrated to leave no doubt they are warriors. Xena and Callisto are two head strong women on a collision course. You can feel the tension in the air and when these two battle you will not want to miss it.

Comments: Callisto is drawn amazing. This is a woman warrior. She has every right to want Xena dead for the atrocities Xena committed as a Warlord. The emotion shown in the drawings is done beautifully.
Xena and Callisto are shown fighting to the death. They each are going all out to kill the other. Callisto does not care who else gets hurt while they battle. Xena is the one responsible for making her as she is.
Gabrielle is presented as a young woman with gumption as she does not sit still but acts.
The art throughout this comic is gorgeously done. Gabby's outfit is perfect for her. It does at times show off her assets nicely.
Having Callisto in this issue really ups its thrill factor. She is a beautiful woman hell bent on Xena's destruction. Plus the fact she is right, it was Xens who hurt her, Xens killed her family, Xena created Callisto. This issue does show that Xena was a monster and Callisto was an innocent. Now the roles are reversed Callisto has become the monster and Xena in the present is an innocent of doing evil yet her past remains.

Comments: A woman's daughter is ill. The daughter travels to ask the Oracle what to do.
Xena and Gabrielle have their own fastball special. The action starts out fast and furious.
Does everyone in ancient Greece wear black biker shorts? This does standout.
The ill daughter, Nazar has the ability to read minds with a touch. This lets her see things she was not meant to.
The art is gorgeous in its portrayal of Xena and Gabby. They are drawn as women but sex objects.
Not a lot happens this issue it is mainly setting up for next issue. Nazar neds help and she needs more than she knows she needs.
The fastball special is cute. Yes Xena does grab Gabby's butt.

Comments: Magic is in the air and it is not for good. Nazar the Seer is going to have trouble coming her way. The Oracle sends this unholy evil.
A magical warrior/assassin attacks Xena, Gabrielle and Nazar are all hard pressed. Xena finds this attacker a challenge. The Avatar of Artemis is drawn wonderfully to show she is dangerous. Xena the Warrior Princess may get knocked down but she gets right back up.
This issue spent to much time with the characters doing nothing. Yes the characters are well shown except that there are so many females and none are shown off at all to show their female wiles.
The villains abound yet only the one is shown in action. The battle is short lived.
Xena is a warrior and needs to be shown more as one. Also if she is not fighting building on her character and Gabrielle's would be great to see.
How Nazar's sister's doll is used was a nice touch to the story.
