New animated PBS TV show for Brad Meltzer
Today, we can officially announce that PBS is making an animated TV show based on our Ordinary People Change the World kids series. It’s called “Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum”—and will premiere in November 2019. What’s it about? In each episode, Xavier Riddle, his sister Yadina and their friend Brad (who looks remarkably familiar) face a problem and turn to the Secret Museum (the coolest hidden room you’ve ever seen) to help them solve it. The museum allows Xavier, Yadina and Brad to travel back in time to meet real-life historical figures when they were kids. From there, they learn lessons about kindness, persistence, humility, generosity, and so much more. Full story in the Hollywood Reporter is here.
Naturally, the art is based on Chris Eliopoulos’s amazing style (yay, Chris!), so you’ll get to see all your favorite heroes come to life, just like in the books. Special thanks to our friends and family at PBS, 9 Story, plus Lesli, Linda, Brad, Vince, Tanya, Jen, Cory, Meghan, Nick, Peter, Jen, Lauri, Jason, Jodi, Richard, Fonda, Rob Weisbach, and so many others for making it all come true.
Needless to say, we are beyond excited. So much more to come, including sneak peeks, character designs, and premiere dates. And we might’ve just hidden the characters in a recent book (hint hint). But just wanted you to hear about it first.
Love to all. See you in the Secret Museum.
