Box 173, Red Wing, MN 55066 Copyright 2009 Reviewed by: Allen Klingelhoets Jazma Online This is children’s book for about ages 4-10 years old. It is a story about a tree that lived at 1970 Maple Lane. The Sugars had a house in a tree. The Sugars were leaves. This is a story about how leaves loved the seasons but favorite season was fall. The story tells how Billy Bud was a Maple tree leaf. The story was illustrated with wonderful full page images by Jon Fischer. Billy Bud grew into a beautiful leaf. His family of leaves encouraged him not to fly before fall. The story is about patience. It also showed what a leaf feels during time of life on tree. It shows the magic of renewal as a leaf falls to ground knowing another bud will return in spring of following year. The joy of feelings of even bird in branches or child climbing up tree was also expressed in verse and images. I felt fun little book. She wrote several other children’s books.
