Papercutz Nancy Drew is wrote with modern time period feel. There are new gadgets for 2005 book like tablet PC or cell-phone. Nancy Drew still has her best friends Bess and George. George is gadget minded. Nancy’s father Carson Drew is in story as person who was hired by Todd Angley. He is the son of Canton Angley II an entrepreneur. Carson was hired to handle his new investments. Carson turned down investment idea when some of ideas turned out to be questionable. Nancy and her friends are teen-agers. Two characters in story named Ben and Quintin get lost in woods surrounding River Heights. Ben and Quintin were helping make movie starring Nancy Drew. It was amateur movie. The two were supposed to meet Nancy and George, and Bess .Nancy reads old story in The River Heights News about the Devil in River Heights. She worries that something has happened to Quintin and Ben. It is revealed that Canton Angley II is very rich. His specialty is mining operations, mostly iron ore, but some more precious like gold and silver. What he is doing in River Heights is a mystery. The Iron Ore in area was mined out years ago. These are some of the elements used to set up new case for Nancy Drew. The town of River Heights has its fair share of crime. Nancy Drew and Bess go hunting in woods for Ben and Quintin. River heights has plenty of wildlife, deer, chipmunks, and the incredibly rare bear. The woods were pitch black on moonless night that search took place. Nancy and Bess use flash lights and have cell phones in case of emergencies. They find several clues as to what happened to Ben and Quintin. Than like great cliff hanger of first act Nancy’s flashlight pans on full grown bear that was standing behind her and begins to growl. I do not want to reveal all spoilers in story. I feel story is young adult graphic novel. I was very curious about figuring out more about The Demon of River Heights. I also wanted to find out what happened to Ben and Quintin. I found book volume # 1 in children's section at my local library. I would guess about 96 pages. I did like conclusion to story. The book ends with special advanced preview of Nancy Drew graphic novel # 2 – “Writ in Stone”. I also noticed in library that many Nancy Drew graphic novels have been published by Papercutz. I also noticed that publisher published graphic novels about the teen detectives The Hardy Boys. I thought would be interesting to review Nancy Drew since there will soon in 2019 be movie about Nancy Drew in movie theaters. The movie is called Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase.

Nancy Drew is a fictional character sleuth in an American mystery series created by publisher Edward Stratemeyer as the female counterpart to his Hardy Boys series. The character first appeared in 1930.
