Allen thoughts:
I really enjoyed reading issue # 97 of Scooby-Doo.
“Night of the Jinkies” was my favorite story in issue # 97. I really liked finding out true meaning of word Jinkies. I had hearty laugh noticing Uncle Shug also had tremendous appetite. I guessed Shaggy thought Scooby-Doo would have eagerly ate Uncle Shug’s sandwich from which was shown on opening page. I was really happy to have Shaggies Uncle Shug use half of town demolition money for worthy cause. It was great idea to use money to make Jinkie Jungle Official Sanctuary and Petting Zoo. I thought Ivan Valdez Jr. had created excellent way in script to solve Jinkie mystery. Also, not hurting Jinkies was wise publicity decision. I thoroughly was captivated by effort that Joe Staton did with penciling: Night of Three Jinkies.
Joe Staton is one of my favorite Scooby-Doo artists.
I guessed correctly that One Eyed Jack was Mr. Fishbone, First Mate. I noticed fake One Eyed Jack had sword in wrong arm.
This was shown in book picture. I liked something else in Yo Ho Haunted two page mystery. Thank you for putting Shaggy in shirt other than traditional green type.
Third story: Shell Shocked was rather easy to solve. I expected huge turtle was some sort of submarine. I felt poaching must be part of Shell Shocked story solution. I am glad poachers were caught by local authorities.
I sometimes wonder about all different authors whom write Scooby-Doo
stories. I wonder if some writers are using pseudonyms? I think this is mystery for another month.
One of the writers of Scooby-Doo is Terrance Griep. Terrance told me that
home town of Mystery Inc. is named Coolsville. The county Scooby-Doo gang or Mystery incorporated is located in Eerie, Ohio. That is just a little tidbit since this is wrote in Halloween season of fall, 2019.
This Scooby-Doo issue is old one from my personal collection. Thought fun to do some Halloween themed reviews since fall season.
