This is book one in a trilogy. The story is work of fiction. The setting is modern time period. The main character is Ten-year-old human boy named Rufus. He goes to spend weekend with his Grandma. His Grand Mother lives in New Leaf Village in Pacific Northwest. The village homes are sold by Northwood Real Estate. His Grand Mother wants to give him prune juice to drink. Rufus is in for a very long weekend. He meets and soon becomes friends with girl about his age named Penny. She is nine years old. The area beyond house is wooded location. There are others in area attempting to get Northwood Real Estate developers to try to stop cutting down trees to make more homes and even golf course. Penny and he go running through woods to have fun. They go deep into the woods. There he stumbles upon the legendary Q’achi totem, which grants him a tremendous power. He must wear necklace totem. He has to say magic word Sasquatch to turn into Big Foot creature. He has to say word backwards to return to boy form. Sasquatch form is full grown creature. There is also sound of thunder when transformation to Sasquatch and boy occurs. When in Sasquatch form Rufus can talk to animals. I also noticed on page 81 that Rufus in human form could still understand animal’s voices. He has to wear totem to hear voices of animals. He also has keen sense of smell. He befriends a flying squirrel named Sidney. He also is very strong. He lifted huge boulder on page 51. The wolves in story are attracted to Magic of magical totem. The totem had been lost for very long time. One wolf in pack thought totem find meant that Rufus was now guardian of the woods. There also was mention of Thunderbird spirit that makes sound of thunder when transformation happens to Rufus. According to book 3 tells how the totem would resurface when needed. The people tearing down forest caused Thunderbird spirit to be found by Rufus. I also read about one of the prior time when another person called Angry Boy got the power of the Sasquatch. Now with new development putting forest in danger the Q’achi Totem has been found by Rufus.
The forest was in danger. The human world was encroaching on animal’s world. I thought rather amazing trilogy. I think more of a teen to adult story. I also got my copies of series from library. The books are about 100 pages each.
Book One is called: Big Foot Boy: Into the Woods
Book Two is called: Bigfoot Boy: The Unkindness of Ravens
Book Three is called: Big Foot Boy: The Sound of Thunder.

Book One Big Foot into the Woods occurs in one weekend. The other two books continue with same characters at later dates. The trilogy is one story not like newspaper strips that might be episode or disjointed non- linear stories. I think would make great cartoon. It is not often that get to see comics with Sasquatch. I think last one I saw was Image Comic book called Proof. I really appreciated effort that was put into Big Foot Boy trilogy.
